Hello! My names Rebecca, I’m 16 years old, and want to share with you about why I started Giving Goggles. My dream started with wanting to travel the world. I wanted to see everything and learn about other cultures. I have always been interested in other cultures.
Until, I started learning about the people all over the world, how much harder they have it then I do. I learned how much different it is in parts of the world and I didn’t want to go there so much anymore.
Then, I noticed that Justin Bieber was giving to charities and he was traveling the world helping people.
I started thinking why cant I do that?
I started to come up with bigger ideas, like why can’t I have my own charity. I had so many great ideas, but I just couldn’t put my finger on just one cause. I thought about creating mutiple charities and everyone told me it was crazy, but I just knew I could do it. Thats when I decided what if i didn’t have a charity. What if I did something different to donate to mutiple causes and teach people along the way.
I was telling my mom about the idea and she thought of the name Giving Goggles. I thought about it and I thought well its catchy and different. I decided it was a good idea Giving Goggles.
When you put your Giving Goggles on it allows you to see opportunities to give. When you become part of the Giving Goggles project you take the focus off yourself and begin to put others first.
My goal is to inspire kids to give to others and think about others before themselves. Because if you have a family, a meal everyday, and fresh water you are one of the most blessed people on the planet. I’m so thankful for everything that I have and that I can give and help others. I want everyone else to notice how thankful they should be too.
We are all capable of giving it just depends on the mindset.
With Love ~ Rebecca
